It's Time To Pay Attention To Lionizer
Released through Whisk & Key Records, Lionizer's Notice Me Senpai is the Perth outfit's finest release to date. Punctuating the fact that it's time to notice Lionizer.
A fist in the air anthem punched full of positivity and pulling it together, Notice Me Senpai, is a hell of a song. Chunky riffs and pounding drums reminiscent of Sleater Kinney set the base from which front person Vez Litten's songwriting leaps off.
When writing of the meaning behind the track the band states:
"The audio equivalent of that scene from Cool Runnings where Yul and Junior look in the mirror and yell 'I see pride, I see power, I see a Bad Ass Mother who don't take no crap off of nobody' over and over"
Which is a song description I can get behind.
Written, recorded and produced entirely by the band themselves, Notice Me Senpai, is an impressive testament to a band burning their own trail. Catch that trail as Lionizer tour the East Coast in support of the release this May:
May 16th - Newcastle @ The Hamilton Station Hotel
