PREMIERE: ROSES – Treehouses (Official Video)

Recently I was lucky enough to have the quite honestly incredible Treehouses show up at my house on a hungover morning to record a stripped back rendition of their latest single ROSES. A handful of weeks down the track and I’m stoked to be able premiere the song’s official film clip.

Shot on an archaic yet beautiful film camera over the course of their latest East Coast tour with Canberra’s Sleeping Dogs. The clip culminates in an intimate yet intense Doonside house show bang in the centre of Sydney’s traditionally suburban Inner West. There are cameos and summer nostalgia aplenty throughout the clip which plays out like the kind of home movie you see in movies.

An initially challenging band that you will find yourself soon cut to pieces by, Treehouses, blend indie, emo, post-rock and spoken word poetry into a storm of sounds that begs you to pick it apart. Hard-hitting and soft in equal measures and ultimately executed in a way that leaves no room for criticism, ROSES, is a perfect song.

Having come into their own in 2017 achieving international recognition within their scene, Treehouses, have laid the perfect platform off which to flourish in 2018 and early signs suggest they are going to do just that.
