PREMIERE: Cracker La Touf – You Had It Coming

Melbourne’s Cracker La Touf’s had a frantic 2017; with a debut album, split 7” single and a national tour having seen the band prick up ears across the country for their remarkably brooding breed of pop music. Now as 2018 blooms into itself so do Cracker La Touf. Laundry Echo is proud to be premiering the first taste of new music from the band for the year right here, in the brilliant You Had It Coming.

Delicate yet tangibly dangerous, rough yet remarkably tight, Cracker La Touf, are a special band. Audibly new single You Had It Coming sounds ready to spill over at any given point, pushing it’s sound right to the limits of reserve before wrapping itself back up and beckoning you to ask for more.

Relaxed guitars rollick and storm on-top of a steady spiralling drum beat. All blending into a dark, meditative platform from which frontwoman Syd Mackey commands attention. Evocative of Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds this is clever, ever steady musicality with a demanding, ever present frontperson conducting the listener experience with a voice steeped in a sense of self and control.

It’s all just so very cool and ever so moreish.
