PREMIERE: Terra Pines – Kidult
Awash with buzz, delicate guitars and a driving rhythm section, Terra Pines, latest single Kidult is a brilliant sign of things soon to come. Ahead of their forthcoming debut self-titled LP, out Friday 11 May, Laundry Echo is stoked to today be premiering lead single Kidult.
It’s no surprise that the city to produce Australia’s first true punk song in The Saints’ iconic Stranded has a bustling, busy and brilliant noise rock scene brewing just beneath the surface of its famed indie/pop scene. There’s more to Brisbane than big choruses, glitter and sunshine laden melodies; a statement Terra Pines are championing on latest single Kidult.
Coming in at just under 4 minutes in length, Kidult is immediately moreish as a subtle layering of washed out sounds capitulates into one unifying piece of grungy shoegaze set to get stuck in your head. Vocalist/Guitarist Kelly Hanlon commands and carries the track, as a meandering dance of harmony and succinct guitar stabs unfolds. It’s sublime, brilliant and all just screams deft musical intelligence.
Follow Terra Pines here and stay tuned for their full single release tomorrow.
