Didirri Returns With The Stunning Formaldehyde

Didirri Returns With The Stunning Formaldehyde

Fragile yet fiercely powerful, personable and palatably clever; there is a certain something magical in the simple, earnest beauty that is the music of Didirri.  Having exploded onto the circuit of "must see" acts in 2017, Didirri has returned early in 2018 with the phenomenal Formaldehyde.

From simple to cinematic, Formaldehyde builds over three and a half minutes, unfolding a song of salvation; dedicated to the powerful women in the modern day troubadour’s life. Built on a spine of a deft, emotive piano melody that sets a platform for Didirri’s stunning vocals to brew, storm and soar off. Ultimately Formaldehyde builds towards a hurricane of crashing drums, vocal layering, horns and deep bass that lifts it’s listener into the song. A masterclass in song writing, construction and production that challenges you without ever overwhelming you.

The first offering of the year for Didirri continues to see the working relationship of two of Australia’s most provocative new artists in Didirri and Hayden Calnin bloom. With Calnin having produced not only Formaldehyde but also previous singles Jude and Blind You. It’s brilliant to see an artist with a sound as beautifully unique as Didirri finding a home in Calnin’s adroit ability to bring an idea full circle into song.

Formaldehyde is a song that won’t soon leave you.
